This is a spacious, stylish, immaculately presented studio apartment, on the third floor of a Victorian stucco building, located in the heart of the desirable West end of Folkestone in Bouverie Village. On entering your studio in Manstone House you will find a spacious, contemporary, sociable, open plan kitchen and living area with double bed. The kitchen has a fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave and hob. Kitchen has spacious shelving storage, kitchen equipment for 2 (includes pans, oven gloves etc.) and breakfast bar/ work space with two bar chairs.
The bedroom area has a double-size bed with luxury mattress, wardrobe, full length mirror, and a wall mounted 42” smart TV. The room is also equipped with cosy sofa for two, foot stool and black out curtains.
The bathroom has a full-size bath with an overhead, wall mounted shower, toilet and sink.
Folkestones' Bouverie village was historically a residential area during the Edwardian and Victorian era, but has evolved into a unique enclave of small businesses offering a micro pub, a wide range of eateries, hairdressers, an antique shop, and a Tesco metro. The apartment is minutes away from The Leas famous cliff top Promenade, with its stunning views across the Channel to France. It is a 5 minute stroll to The Lower Leas Coastal Park, the town centre, and the beach.

• No smoking inside the building or on the entrance steps
• No parties or events
• Quiet hours must be observed between 10pm - 7am
• Bathroom towels should NOT be removed from the apartment. (Beach towels can be supplied at an additional cost).
• Please use the designated make up pads/cloth and complementary Micellar water to remove make-up/fake tan. (Make-up stained white towels and bedding will be charged at £5 per item).
• Please DO NOT wash the towels provided. If you require a fresh set contact us to arrange.
• Please DO NOT feed the seagulls.
• Please DO NOT light candles in the building. There is a call-out fee of £60 to reset the smoke alarm system.
Access to the property is by key kept in a lockbox at the front door. Please note that there is no direct parking available near the property. Further down the road there is free on street parking available on a first come first served basis. The same is true in adjacent streets if you arrive at a busy time. Unless you intend to leave the town, you can walk to almost every part of Folkestone along the numerous scenic routes.

Please note, this apartment is not suitable for children.
Please note, for our guests comfort, any stay longer than 7 days will be required to have a mid-stay apartment clean, change of bedding, towels & tea towels. There will be an additional charge of £40 for this service.

August 2023Cozy, clean and well equipped apartment for a couple of nights. We used the Sandgate car park just minutes away which was £5.50 for an entire day. Overall, happy with our stay. The only thing that I would add is perhaps to install a see through curtains as well. With the curtains open anyone could easily see indoors from the street. Would stay again!

They have clearly thought about what short and long term guests might need to make their stay easy and comfortable. Would stay there again if in the area!

April 2023The accommodation is even better than the pictures, it has so many features and even small details that make it the perfect place to relax and spend time! I will most definitely come back! The bathtub was a particularly lovely feature and the positioning of the tv near the bed was perfect for cosy nights in! The kitchen area was so well stocked, it had everything you need to make good food from home and everything was super easy to find! There was also a lovely welcome pack to read through as well giving you all the information you could possibly want about the property and local area. The work space was fantastic, close to the lovely big doors that let in so much natural light! There was a small supermarket just across the road which was highly convenient as well as several restaurants and cafés! A short walk from the train station and town centre, it's really central for everything. It was also surprisingly peaceful considering how central it is! I didn't hear much traffic at all!

February 2023Nice bolt hole and well equipped. Only thing was the door and lock to the studio was an internal door and a simple turn lock. Not secure enough in my opinion for a main apartment door. It also didn’t provide great soundproofing from banging doors, people in the hallway etc.

January 2023Lovely place to stay, very clean and had the option to cook a few meals ourselves so we didn;t have to eat out all the time. A comfortable bed and lovely bath, everything you need really. Had an issue with the radiator and they immediately came to fix it. Great service, would definitely recommend!

January 2023We really enjoyed our stay at The Hideaway. The place was very tidy and cozy, with a great setup. However we had issues with the hot water our entire stay - there wasn’t enough for a shower, and the hot water completely ran out after only a few minutes (we were told it would need 90 minutes to refresh the tank, but the tank doesn’t seem big enough for much more than washing your hands). The walls also aren’t especially sound proof, so it’s easy to hear people in the hallway entering or existing the other flats (though this isn’t much of a deal). If we had reliable hot water our stay would have been much more enjoyable. The flat had a bath, but there’s nowhere near enough hot water to actually fill it, unfortunately. But that aside, it was a great spot to spend a few days, at a great location with great places to eat nearby.

November 2022An absolutely perfect stay: I was so desperate for rest and recuperation, and to feel like I was in a home of sorts, rather than "on the road"--like everyone, I'm not as young as I used to be and long term travel had been taking it out of me. This little studio flat was exactly what I needed, and I felt no qualms about having a lovely, lazy time inside of it.

November 2022Staying at Christine’s was beyond great. It felt as if I had my own little apartment. The room itself was so gorgeous and modern, rarely the photos live up to the place, but Christine’s apartment looked even better than the photos. You could see that there was so much thought put into little details such as a hamper of goods, Netflix being available on the tv (very large tv!) and selected toiletries for just what you need. The bathroom was so beautiful too, there is a big mirror with lights that is perfect for doing your makeup, the bath is huge and the shower is really powerful. The location was perfect, close to the centre and beach, and right next door to Tesco’s! I just can’t believe how affordable it is, and I would recommend this stay to anyone who would like to visit Folkestone, truly lovely.

October 2022Nestled in the heart of Folkestone this cute little studio offered a much need base for exploring the beautiful areas of Dymchurch, Hythe and Folkestone. Christine was a great host and offered a property just as described on Airbnb! Her welcome book and light breakfast was great, the welcome book offers suggestions for local activities and restaurants along with plenty of more info. As per previous reviews you can hear people entering the building but this was easily and happily liveable with as once in their own rooms you couldn't hear other guests or residents! The place was spotless and beautifully decorated, walking in to a lovely smell also displays Christines attention to detail! If you are even considering staying here just do it you won't be disappointed!!! we also visited the local Hythe imperial hotel which was £16 per adult for gym and pool access with spa insight also! Another greta part of folkestone is that its extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly!!!

Christine was extremely communicative and generous, being flexible about check-out and providing complementary items because a mix up with the Airbnb availability. Please just note that the walls are extremely thin and the volume on the TV can be heard outside the apartment. We had Denise reach out about a noise complaint, as we watched a movie to fall asleep with the volume at 15 out of 100. Other than that, the Airbnb was convenient, clean, and cozy.

June 2022This is a lovely little studio! Minutes from the seaside and the centre of town, and an easy walk to the old pier with all its eating and drinking spots. It's a well designed and comfortable space, with all the basic amenities you'd need for a holiday. The basics supplied on arrival are a nice touch also. My only concern, which was what made it 4 stars rather than 5, is that the door is not very thick so you hear all the sounds in the hall - people coming and going out the door, on the stairs, etc. As it's 4 holiday flats in the building, at times this was a bit much. Outside of that, the location itself is quite quiet and peaceful.

June 2022The accommodation was lovely and clean, comfortable and cozy! It was nice to be supplied with complimentary snacks and food as most places do not usually do this! Tampons and pads were also provided which I think is really lovely! Although the town is quite small but with a nearby train station it is easy to travel to other places! I really recommend staying here as it is great value for money.
