A beautifully finished cottage in a quiet residential street only 2 minutes walk to the sea and a 5 minute walk to the Creative Quarter and many of Folkestone's restaurants and bars. A 10-minute walk will bring you to the heart of the town centre where cafe's, shops, local cinema, museum and many of Folkestone's notable Triennial installations are dotted along the route. Harbour Cottage is an ideal base to explore all Folkestone has to offer.

The space

Harbour Cottage is a mid-terraced brick house set back from the road with a paved front driveway. The entrance hall opens into the opulent and inviting living room perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring. The large kitchen/diner seats 6 and is well equipped with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave as well as a 6 burner double oven range cooker for that traditional roast! The adjoining utility room has a Logik washing machine and leads onto the southfacing sunlit garden split over 4 levels with a seating area and fab swinging chair, adjacent lawns make this the perfect place to relax in the sun. The master dorma bedroom is tastefully furnished including a king size bed with a quality mattress to ensure a sound sleep. The second bedroom has a small double with single bunk bed above with a walk-in wardrobe store room for all your clothes/luggage.

The neighbourhood

Offering dramatic clifftop views that cast out across the glistening English Channel, the pre-eminent Edwardian seaside resort of Folkestone is Kent's most magical town. An inspirational haven for artists and innovators, Folkestone's acclaimed Creative Quarter fans out from the Old High Street, whose winding cobbles are lined with small art galleries, independent shops, and a mouthwatering choice of cafes and restaurants. Tuula's Cottage is situated right in the heart of Folkestone, just a few minutes’ walk from The Creative Quarter, Sunny Sands beach, and the regenerated Harbour area.

House rules

• No pets
• No smoking inside the building or on the entrance steps
• No parties or events
• Quiet hours must be observed between 10pm - 7am
• Bathroom towels should NOT be removed from the apartment. (Beach towels can be supplied at an additional cost).
• Please use the designated make up pads/cloth and complementary Micellar water to remove make-up/fake tan. (Make-up stained white towels and bedding will be charged at £5 per item).
• Please DO NOT wash the towels provided. If you require a fresh set contact us to arrange.
• Please DO NOT feed the seagulls.
• Please DO NOT light candles in the building. There is a call-out fee of £60 to reset the smoke alarm system.

Guest access

Access to the property is by key within a lockbox to the left of the front door. There is ample space for a large car on the driveway. If you have a second car there is on-street parking at a cost of £4pn which can be arranged for you. Unless you intend to leave the town, you can walk to almost every part of Folkestone along the numerous scenes routes.

Please note: We do welcome children in our accommodation, but we do not provide safety equipment or lockable cupboards.

Please note, for our guests comfort, any stay longer than 7 days will be required to have a mid-stay apartment clean, change of bedding, towels & tea towels. There will be an additional charge of £85 for this service.

Great location and lovely place to stay. We were so pleased with how clean and tidy the place was and how easy it was to walk into the town and to the Harbour Arm, really close to the creative quarter as well. Lots of nice amenities and touches to the place as well as a thorough guide which made everything user friendly and an enjoyable experience all around. As others have said the bedrooms are on the small side but that’s fine as it’s clear and expected from the photos and certainly didn’t detract from the overall experience. We certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Great little house very well located for sunny sands beach, the harbour and lots of restaurants. The house was slightly smaller than we thought looking at the pictures but since we were only 3 of us it was sufficient. We didn’t use the garden as we were out of the house most of the time. Hosts were responsive and we had a good stay.

The house was well located and very nicely decorated. Amenities were good, the place was very clean, and the neighbourhood was quiet. Only thing to be aware of is that the sofa bed is very uncomfortable, so the third bedroom isn't really usable as a bedroom (maybe it would be OK for a small child). Overall, though, the house was nice.

Great place to stay for our English Channel relay swim. Walkable to the beaches for our training and host provided plenty of taxi options and phone numbers for rides to Dover. Amazing kitchen for cooking and even hosting dinner for team. Will definitely come back and stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay. It was exactly like the pictures and extremely clean and the beds were very comfy! We stayed as a family with a 3 year old and 6 month old plenty of room and our 3 year old loved the bunk bed. The only thing i would say is that the garden although lovely is only accesible by very steep concrete stairs so isnt kid friendly but we didnt mind as we were out alot and you are so close to the beach.

This was a great location for getting to Sunny Sands, Harbour Arm, and the Creative Quarter by foot. It was well appointed for our family with young children (the baby toys were a hit!). Having some buyable snacks and drinks on hand was a nice touch. Quiet street and neighbors. We would stay there again!

Great place to explore Folkestone from. House is lovely, clean, as described, and comfortable. Bedrooms are pretty small, but fine for us and our 2 children. House is great and has everything you need. Would definitely recommend and would come again!

Had a really lovely short stay in Folkestone. The house is a very short walk from the harbour, the beaches, the town centre and the beautiful cobbled streets of the Creative Quarter. Found some amazing vegan food and lots of nice little shops to browse in. Also enjoyed some (very blustery!) walks on the cliffs and down the Harbour Arm. The house itself was very stylishly decorated with really comfortable rooms and a lovely kitchen-diner. The garden looked great as well although not heavily used as we were there in December.
